16-year-old Wyoming student arrested for not wearing a mask, entire school locked out
A 16-year-old student from Wyoming was arrested and the entire school was quarantined – all because she refused to wear a mask.
Grace Smith, 16, was twice suspended by Laramie High School in Wyoming for refusing to wear masks during class.
A courageous student attempted to return to class without being muzzled, but was confronted by the police who issued her a $ 500 ticket. After being told she had to leave, she refused. She was then handcuffed and arrested.
As the scene unfolded, an announcement was made over the loudspeaker that read: âWe are in confinement, please stay in your rooms. “

Grace will be kicked out if she continues to take suspensions – but the high school student has no plans to back down, according to an RT report.
“I grew up in a country where I am supposed to have the rights that God gives me to protect, and they have been taken away from me” she said to the Laramie Boomerang. âEveryone has the freedom to wear a mask if they want to, but I think everyone also has the right not to wear a mask if they want to. “
Smith’s family are now fighting with a lawyer. To help the Smith family, a GiveSendGo campaign raised $ 18,000.
âGrace is a college girl. Her beauty is evident in her kindness, compassion and generosity. She is passionate about theater and dance and is an exceptional student. Grace chose not to wear a mask and chose to assert her rights. The local school board voted to enforce a universal mask policy that we believe is illegal and in violation of the Wyoming state constitution, âthe fundraising page explains.
âGrace suffered suspensions and was arrested for not wearing a mask. She was also targeted by peers and school staff for exercising her rights, âcontinues the description of the fundraiser. âGrace is raising funds to help cover the legal costs of defending her civil liberties and the civil liberties of other Wyoming students who are experiencing the same illegal treatment. By supporting this fight for their freedoms, you are helping to secure the rights of every citizen of the State of Wyoming.
