Aurora, Missouri, Man Charged with DWI Misdemeanor, Missouri State Highway Patrol Says He Slipped The Pickup, Causing It To Roll Over | KSNF / KODE
Stephen Butts, 36, arrested on charges of impaired driving, reckless and reckless driving – causing a serious accident and without insurance.
NEWTON COUNTY, Missouri – On Saturday morning, just after 10 a.m., the Newton County Central Dispatch was alerted to reports of an accident along I-49 South, near the 35 mile terminal. The incident occurred one mile north of the Tipton Ford exit.
Redings Mill Fire District, Newton County Sheriff’s Deputies, Newton County Ambulance responded to the emergency. Missouri State Highway Patrol have been notified.
A pickup overturned and was resting on its wheels in the median. While a passenger vehicle had left the road to the tree line below, hitting the trees.
The driver of a 2010 Chevy Cobalt, Stephen Butts, 36, of Aurora, Missouri, was arrested on charges of impaired driving – Drugs, reckless and reckless driving – involving an accident and no insurance. He suffered minor injuries.
The Chevrolet caused the southbound crash that resulted in the overturning of the 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. Driven by Jaynelle M. Bowden, 55, of Story City, Iowa. She sustained moderate injuries and was rushed to Freeman West in Joplin.
Corporal B. Dodson of D Troop said: “[Chevy] dodged [Ford pickup], causing [Ford pickup] to spill. [Chevy] then ran off the road and hit a tree.
Chuck’s Towing removed the vehicles. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.
