Where do the people of Missouri move to?

STACKER – The United States is among the most mobile countries around the world, but our moving rates have fallen over the past few decades. In 2019, for example, a lower percentage of Americans changed their residence than any previous year since 1947, when migration statistics were first collected by the Census Bureau. Between March 2019 and 2020, only 9.3% of Americans have moved.

American migration has experienced some form of decline since the housing boom and economic growth of the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. During this period, up to 20% of the population moved each year.

Stacker compiled a list of the places where people in Missouri travel the most using data from the United States Census Bureau. States are ranked by the number of people who moved from Missouri in 2019. Read on to see where people from your home country move the most.
