William “Bill” Harder, 88, of Missouri Valley, Iowa, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 31, 2021. Bill was born to Chester and Florence Harder on January 10, 1933 in Missouri Valley, Iowa, where he was raised. After graduating from Missouri Valley High School, he married the love of his life, Elizabeth “Lib” Lytten, on November 9, 1952. Bill and Lib had two beautiful daughters, Deb and Joni, and they were married. for over 50 years before Lib passed.

Bill served in the Korean War for the United States Army, and after being honorably discharged, he held many positions throughout his life. Bill and Lib have spent years traveling, playing golf and going to casinos. He was a collector of all things, priceless and worthless. He loved to entertain (especially the ladies) and never met a stranger.

His parents died before him; his wife Elisabeth; her brothers, Phillip Harder, Carol “Babe” Harder; and his sister, Maryann Glennie. He is survived by his sister, Linda Dooley (Kenneth) of Missouri Valley, IA; and her sister-in-law, Donna Harder of West Des Moines, IA; his daughters, Debra Gardner (Mike) of Henderson, Nevada and Joni Lowry (Bill) of Cumming, IA; his grandchildren: Scott Gardner (Brandy), Kelli Gardner, Lauren Schmidgall (Cory), Claire Mueller (Jacob); and his great-grandchildren: Taylor West (Michael), Kane Schmidgall, Chase Gardner, Landry Schmidgall, Libby Mieth, Emery, Ethan and JJ Mueller.

A private service will take place at a later date. Instead of flowers, the family asks for a donation to a charity of your choice.
